Long live the Bourgogne Aligoté!

When late summer comes… remains the Bourgogne Aligoté! Here a nice way to revise this popular French song and positively approach this back-to-work period. Moreover when the warm weather is continuing and you can still easily enjoy a wine glass taken in terrace.
For the Burgundian people, the traditional after-work match is the famous “Kir”-cotktail : a dash of “Crème de Cassis” in a glass of Bourgogne Aligoté and you’re ready to share a great moment of conviviality !
But the second variety for white Burgundies (after the Chardonnay) has more than a few up his grape! Festive wine par excellence, with a unique character, the Aligoté offers an infinity of possibilities, and remains to be discovered where it is not expected. Its freshness and its lovely fruity and citrus notes make it the prefect companion to shellfish, sushi or sashimi. To enjoy also with goat cheese, fresh bread slices, delicatessen, mixed salads or tapas. And do not forget the Burgundy’s specialities: gougères (small pastry puffs with cheese), snails or cured ham.
At Labouré-Roi, we always had and still have passion for this 100% Burgundian grape variety. Both modern and accessible, it refers to friendship and sharing with each other, discovery and authenticity, values that our whole team is sharing. The Gault et Millau experts, as well as the master French Sommelier Pascal Paulze, already appreciated and selected our 2015 vintage. Then the Gilbert & Gaillard wine guide offered a Gold Medal to our cuvee and now the September issue of “Cuisine et Vins de France” highlights again our wine in the special supermarket’s wine fairs buying guide: “a fine mineral tension with a salty touch” and a score of 16/20 for our wine to be found in September by the French supermakets “Leader Price”.
There is no doubt anymore, Bourgogne Aligoté is this Autumn’s wine… and more!
